Hello Jar of Seawater

Hallo Jar of Sea Water

You’ve been sitting on my kitchen windowsill for so long now, you may be thinking that I’ve forgotten you, but I haven’t.

I scooped you out of the sea thinking that I would ask to swear on you when I was called for Jury Service.  Others had sworn on river water – I wanted to use you to take my oath in a Court of Law.

There’s a precedent of Paul Powersland, a lawyer in England, swearing on river water for his Jury Service.  I knew I could do it.  Seawater is a symbol of nature, that is why I choose you.

Kelp & Kindred began with a fight:
To stop the mechanical dredging of wild kelp in Scotland. That dispute was won, but it led to something bigger: a realisation that seaweed, often discarded and unwanted, held immense potential to regenerate soil, enrich biodiversity, and build a circular economy.
